Maspalomas offers local handicrafts to tourists


A total of 64 artisans of different trades involved in the First Tourist Crafts Fair to be held at the Faro de Maspalomas in the next days 1 and 6 March, in order to provide a tourist attraction, besides the sun and beach.

Ceramic artisans, leather goods, jewelry and fabric decorators Fourteen of the 21 municipalities of the island have been selected to participate in the fair, and these are the products most in demand by tourists, Jimenez said, adding that most come the capital of Gran Canaria, Telde, Ingenio and San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

The artisans had been demanding to take the largest influx of foreign tourists who are registered in the spring.
